Let's join together to celebrate our 10th Christmas event
We have been hit by the devastating Covid-19 pandemic for more than two years. Worldwide, hundreds of millions of people have been exposed and many have died. It is still unclear where and how this virus appeared. What is clear is that it spreads very quickly before the world is ready to face it. The mutations make humans seem helpless. To overcome this, vaccinations are held to strengthen our body's immunity. There is no antidote yet. Hospital facilities, doctors, and health workers were overwhelmed. In fact, there were so many burials of victims that they had to queue at the cemetery. At the beginning of the outbreak of the pandemic, there was panic. After the healing efforts began to succeed, although not entirely, then there was confidence that one day this corona would be overcome.
This pandemic does not discriminate against nations, races, ages, rich or poor, or religions. In fact, quite a number of religious leaders have died. It's really very unfortunate because there are people who don't believe in the existence of this coronavirus, even though it has claimed many victims. Families were torn apart. Many died without saying goodbye, were unable to see the face of the victim after death and were unable to escort them to the burial place.
There is a great sense of loss. Our beloved is simply snatched from our midst, and we are not ready to accept it. In addition to the feeling of losing family members, many business ventures have also been destroyed, leaving families confused about their future.
Likewise, children's education is very disturbed. Thank God, students can still learn through the internet. But there are quite a number of obstacles.
The world of economy and business faces tremendous challenges. The government must work hard to deal with this pandemic in various ways, and at the same time try not to destroy the economy. This pandemic caused health problems and economic problems. We are all concerned about this corona pandemic. God's people, you and I, are also no exception.
What wisdom can we learn from this pandemic?
First, this pandemic has opened our eyes that life is very valuable, more valuable than gold and silver, position and power, or fame and popularity. None of that can replace the loss of a family member we love. So, appreciate this life.
Secondly, the human age is very short and fleeting. The Bible describes our life as a vapor or smoke that appears for a moment and then vanishes. Use our time wisely.
Third, don't just rely on human ability. We give our highest appreciation to doctors, health workers, and all those who work hard to help others to overcome this virus. But we know that in the end our life is determined by God.
Fourth, because life is short, do as much good as possible. One way to do good, which we can do during this pandemic, is to take care of each of us so that we don't get infected or transmit this virus. Negligence or carelessness can be fatal. Taking care of ourselves by following proper and strict health protocols, so that we don't get infected or transmit this virus to others, is already a good deed.
Our real life, the real one is to live with God in eternity. Living in a world that is described as that vapor, is temporary. Everything will end. In the Christian faith, true life, which is eternal and everlasting, we receive as a gift from God when we personally believe in Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord. It is from this perspective that we have a solid foundation that awakens our faith against this pandemic.
With the Lord Jesus, be sure that you are the winner in the test of faith, and let us be together again in our Christmas celebration. See you at our Christmas celebration.
God bless you all.

Christmas may be a day of feasting, or of prayer, but always it will be a day of remembrance — a day in which we think of everything we have ever loved.
